DNS Settings

Introduction
After registering with Real Estate Designer, your website will then be in "Preview Mode". You will be able to add content and view your website without pointing to your live domain for as long as you like. IMPORTANT! Please allow 2 hours for your website to be fully provisioned prior to adding your content.

When you are completely ready to point your domain to your website with Real Estate Designer and adjust your domain's DNS settings, please follow the instructions below.

Adjusting Your Domain Settings - General Domain Registrars

Each domain has a set of A Records (also called IP Records) that will need to be adjusted in order for us to host your website. Please follow the instructions below. If you would like us to do this for you, please send us the login info to your domain account. This is by far the easiest way to ensure that your domain settings are set properly and is preferred by most of our clients.

After logging into your domain account, please adjust the following DNS settings. This section is commonly labeled as "Advanced DNS Settings".

Within your domain's "Advanced DNS Settings", please replace all of your existing
"A Records" (sometimes referred to as IP Records) to: 184.168.73.173.
See examples below.

Host: Points to:
www 184.168.73.173
* or leave blank 184.168.73.173

Adjusting Your Domain Settings with GoDaddy.com and Realestatedesignerdomains.com

After logging in to your domain account, go to:

All Products Tab > Domains > Domain Management and select your domain.

Choose the "DNS Zone File" tab and click "Edit" as shown below.


A new window will open up and you will see 6 main headings.

  1. Under the "DNS Manager" Heading, click on "Launch".

  2. Next click on the "Add Record" button just above A (Host).
    A pop-up window will appear. Please enter the following:

    Under "Record Type":
    Select A (Host)
    Under "Host Name":
    Enter: @
    Under "Points to Ip Address":
    Enter: 184.168.73.173
    and then click ok.

  3. Delete the previous A Record that was already listed by clicking on the
    RED X button to the far right.

  4. When you are finished with your changes, click on the Save Zone button.
